Greenway Avenue Sidewalk Project
- Installation of a six-foot-wide concrete sidewalk approximately four feet behind the street curb. The boulevard area between the curb and sidewalk will be sodded.
- There will be a separate project to reconstruct Greenway Avenue (paving, curbing, water main) simultaneously with the sidewalk project. Information regarding that project will be provided at a later time.

The City recently updated their Pedestrian and Bicycle Plan and this corridor was identified as being important for pedestrians. It provides a safe route to the high school and access to the Gold Line BRT Station. The sidewalk will provide the most comfortable and safe facility for the users.

Access to your property will be maintained as much as possible during construction. There will be periods when access will be restricted to allow for the concrete sidewalk, driveway apron, and driveways to cure.

The grade of the sidewalk has to meet Americans with Disability Act (ADA) standards which limits the slope across the sidewalk to two percent. In some locations this lowers the elevation of the boulevard area so there needs to be a transition to match the existing grades in the yard and driveway areas.

- Yes, the City will be compensating property owners for the temporary easement areas. Compensation will vary from property to property based on lot width and the presence of driveways, trees and other improvements.

- Lawns, fences, landscaping, irrigation systems that are removed during construction will be restored.
- Replacement trees will be planted for trees that are removed.
- The driveway aprons between the curb and sidewalk will be concrete.
- The driveways behind the sidewalk will be replaced with surfaces similar to the existing surface materials (asphalt for asphalt, and concrete for concrete).
