1. Where is the dog park located?

The Oakdale Bark Park - the city's off-leash park for dogs, is located off 50th Street, between Helena Road and Heather Ridge Road.

2. What are the hours of the dog park?

The Oakdale Bark Park opens one-half hour before sunrise and closes one-half hour after sunset.

3. What are the rules for the dog park?

Here are the rules: 

• Dogs must be vaccinated and not designated as a dangerous dog or in heat. The City of Oakdale no longer requires dogs to be licensed. Therefore, a license is not needed to be in the Bark Park.  
• Dogs must be leashed prior to entering and upon leaving the off-leash area and in transition corridors. 
• Dogs must stay within fenced area. 
• Owners are liable for damage or injury inflicted by their dogs. 
• Owners must be in verbal control of their dogs at all times and prevent aggressive behavior, biting, fighting or excessive barking. 
• Owners must be 16 years or older, and not handling more than two dogs.  
• Owners must clean up and dispose of feces. 
• Owners must have a visible leash at all times.

4. Is a permit required to use the dog park?

No, visitors to the Oakdale Bark Park do not need a permit or pass to use the park.

5. Why is the dog park fence only four feet high?

Experts indicate that four-foot fences are adequate for 99 percent of dogs and still allow adult deer to clear.
