Best Snow Sculpture of Oakdale Contest Calling all creative Oakdale families! Do you have what it takes to create the best snow sculpture in the city? Head outside any time after a snowfall and create your masterpiece! All sculptures are judged on appearance, relative to this season's theme: "Summer at the Beach." Winning sculpture receives a $100 Marcus Theaters gift card! Submit photo entries by March 30. Winner will be contacted by April 2.

Snowshoe RentalDiscovery Center
Take your family and friends snowshoeing in the 220 acre Oakdale Nature Preserve. Sizes available for both children and adult. Rentals available at these times (pending snow conditions): Monday - Friday: 9AM to 4PM, Saturdays: 12 to 4PM, Sundays: 1 to 4PM. $5/person for 2 hour rental.

Mystery Egg HuntSaturday, March 31 | 9AM – 11 AM | Discovery Center
The clever Easter Bunny has hidden eggs along trails of the Oakdale Nature Preserve. We need kids to help find one and then exchange it for a very special surprise! The Easter Bunny also hides two Golden Eggs redeemable for extra special surprises! After hunting for eggs, enjoy games, refreshments, crafts, face painting, petting zoo, and prizes. Register by March 23. $11 per child.

Wellness 50+ A Matter of BalanceWednesdays, April 11 – May 30 | 9AM – 11AM | Discovery Center
Fear of falling can be just as dangerous as falling itself. People who develop this fear often limit their activities, which can result in physical weakness, making the risk of falling greater. Many older adults also experience increased isolation and depression when they limit their interactions with family and friends. A Matter of Balance can help you improve your quality of life and remain independent. A Matter of Balance is designed to reduce the fear of falling and increase activity levels among older adults. You’ll learn to set realistic goals to increase activity, change your environment to reduce fall risk factors and learn simple exercises to increase strength and balance. Register by April 4. $15.
