Current and Planned Work
Area 1: Upper 5th Street N (Greenway Avenue N to Grovner Avenue N), 5th Street N, and 5th Street Court N)
- Please do not disturb the concrete stakes, as they are essential for curb location and elevation.
- Placement of concrete curb and driveway aprons is currently ongoing. This is planned to be completed by Friday, August 1. When the concrete is poured, residents will not be able to drive on it for five (5) days.
- The contractor will begin grading the road on Saturday, August 2 in preparation for the first layer of asphalt. This will take a few days to complete.
- The first layer of asphalt is planned for Wednesday, August 6. No street parking will be allowed during paving. Residents will be able to use driveways by paving time.
Area 2: 6th Street N, 4th Street N, 3rd Street N, Grenadier Avenue N, and Gresham Avenue N
- The contractor is currently raising all the valves and manholes to the proposed road grade today, Thursday, July 31. Please drive with care as most of the manholes being worked on are in the center of the street.
Area 3: 1st Street North and Greystone Avenue N
- The removal and replacement of the water main is complete. However, the contractor is now replacing all the water services. This should be completed by Tuesday, August 5. Please note that there will be a brief period when access to driveways is restricted due to the water main replacement work. Please be patient with the contractor during this time, as they will be working as quickly as possible to regain access to driveways.
- A new sand and gravel section is planned to be installed starting on Saturday, August 2. This will take about a week to complete. There will be lots of heavy equipment and trucks running along the street. Please drive with care and be patient as there will be a brief period when access to driveways is restricted due to the work. The contractor is responsible for regaining access to driveways by the end of each workday during this time.
- Placement of concrete curb and driveway aprons is tentatively planned for August 19 and August 20. Residents will be notified in advance.
Area 4: Grovner Avenue N and Upper 5th Street N (Grovner Avenue N to Hadley Avenue N)
- Placement of concrete curb and driveway aprons is currently underway on Grovner Avenue N. This will be completed by Friday, August 1. When the concrete is poured, residents will not be able to drive on it for five (5) days.
- The first layer of asphalt is planned for Wednesday, August 6. No street parking will be allowed during paving. Residents will be able to use driveways by paving time.
Reminders
As construction progresses, please use caution traveling within the project area. Also, please do not park vehicles on the street from 7 AM to 7 PM within the project area unless instructed to by the contractor to accommodate driveway work. This will help the contractor to work more efficiently and will create a safer work zone. Thank you, as always, for your ongoing patience and cooperation.
