Construction Progress
Now that winter and the spring thaw are over, progress on the new Oakdale Public Works facility is accelerating.
All of the precast concrete panels have been erected for the exterior walls, fleet storage and operational areas. The steel framing for the office area is also complete and can be viewed from Granada Avenue N. Less visible work on interior areas behind the precast panel walls is also underway. Masonry block construction is creating spaces for mechanics, forestry, sign shop and other vital Public Works functions.
This month crews will complete the water, sanitary sewer and storm sewer utility work. The walls for the office area will be framed in and roof trusses in the fleet storage area placed.
With anticipation of a late fall completion, items needed to operate the building are being acquired including a security system, office furniture and technology equipment.
