Each summer, the City of Oakdale provides weekly construction updates on the annual Street Improvement Program projects. For more information on this year's projects, visit the City of Oakdale Engineering Projects webpage.

Construction has begun on this year’s Street Improvement Project. The contractor has split the project into four areas for coordination and scheduling.

- Area 1:  46th Street N, 47th Street N, 48th Street N and 49th Street N (From Hadley Avenue N to the East) Area 1 Map
- Area 2:  Hadley Avenue N from 40th Street N to 50th Street N Area 2 Map
- Area 3:  Oakdale Nature Preserve Trail Reconstruction Area 3 Map
- Area 4:  North Fire Station Parking Lot Reconstruction Area 4 Map

Improvements on Hadley Avenue N include miscellaneous storm sewer repairs, spot curb and gutter replacement, full asphalt replacement, street light replacement and bike trail reconstruction on the west side of Hadley Avenue N. 

The improvements in the residential areas east of Hadley Avenue N include miscellaneous storm, sanitary and water main repairs, spot curb and gutter replacement, street light replacement and full asphalt pavement replacement. 

Dresel Contracting is the contractor for this project. They have successfully completed many similar local projects. All project work is scheduled to be completed by the end of September.

Current and Planned Work

Area 1: 46th Street N, 47th Street N, 48th Street N and 49th Street N (From Hadley Avenue N to the East)
- Work began on Monday, May 13. 
- The contractor is lowering manhole castings in the street in preparation for removing the street surface. Street removal could potentially begin after Memorial Day.
- Spot curb and gutter removal began this week in the 46th and 47th Street N area. Concrete curb replacement will begin next week. Please do not move the survey stakes behind the removed curb and gutter. These are used to provide the location of the curb so the contractor may install it in the proper location.
- Spot curb and gutter removal will begin next week in the 48th and 49th Street N area.
- The contractor will repair a water main valve on 48th Street N next week. This will require a temporary water main shut down during the day. Residents will be notified prior to the shutdown.
- Storm sewer repairs will be completed on 48th Street N this week and next week.

Area 2: Hadley Avenue N (40th Street N to 50th Street N)
- Work has not been scheduled in this area at this time. 

Area 3: Oakdale Nature Preserve Trail Reconstruction
- Work is planned to start after July 8.

Area 4: North Fire Station Parking Lot Reconstruction
- Work has not been scheduled in this area at this time.

Reminders

As construction progresses, please use caution traveling within the project area. Also, please do not park vehicles on the street from 7 AM to 7 PM within the project area unless instructed to by the contractor to accommodate driveway work. This will help the contractor to work more efficiently and will create a safer work zone. Thank you, as always, for your ongoing patience and cooperation.
