Current and Planned Work
Area 1: Glenbrook Area (9th Street N, Gershwin Avenue, Glenbrook Avenue)
- Water main and service replacement on 9th Street is complete.
- A grading crew is scheduled to start 9th Street excavation next Wednesday. The top two feet of roadway soil is being removed and replaced with a clean, sandy soil to create a stronger and more drainable road subgrade. The salvaged gravel will then be replaced on top of the sand. This work will take about a week to complete.
- The temporary above-ground water main on Gershwin is installed, and the contractor will coordinate connections to each home including turning off the water meter in the house. Curb removal is being done now to prepare for the water main replacement. The water main and service replacement is planned to start next Wednesday and will take about two weeks to complete.
Area 2: Hydram Area (Cardinal Meadows Neighborhood)
- Concrete curb replacement is complete except for some gutters crossing the road. This work is planned for next Friday.
- Hydram Avenue at 15th Street is planned to be closed next Thursday, July 6 until Monday, July 10. Traffic will be detoured using Helmo Avenue and 18th Street. A water valve replacement and the concrete cross gutter replacement is planned here for Thursday and Friday.
- Parking is now available on the street until driveways are opened for vehicles, which is planned for next Wednesday, July 5.
- The first layer of asphalt is planned to be paved the week of July 10.
Area 3: Helmo Ave Area (Helmo Avenue Bay N and Upper 26th Street N)
- Isolated sections of damaged curb have been removed and are planned to be replaced late next week.
- The asphalt pavement is planned to be reclaimed into gravel next week, and the first layer of asphalt is planned to be paved the week of July 10.
Area 4: 4Front Area (High Point Drive, Hopkins Place, 36th Street N)
- Work is tentatively planned to start here the week of July 17.
Area 5: 56th Street N
- Work is planned to start here in early August. Some work may be done at night to minimize access disruptions.
Reminders
As construction progresses, please use caution traveling within the project area. Also, please do not park vehicles on the street from 7 AM to 7 PM within the project area unless instructed to by the Contractor to accommodate driveway work.
