Oakdale Summerfest Community CelebrationJune 22 to 26 | Walton Park Come together for the annual Oakdale Summerfest Celebration! Put up your lawn chair and collect candy at the parade, dance to live music at the bandshell, feast at the food trucks, race in the 5K, bring the kiddos for youth activities, hunt for the medallion, enjoy a fireworks extravaganza, and more! Oakdale Nature Preserve Summerfest 5KSaturday, June 24 | 7 AM Check-in, 8 AM Start Time | Discovery Center Time to start gearing up for the Oakdale Nature Preserve 5K, taking place during Oakdale Summerfest weekend! This race is for all; runners and walkers alike. The race will start and end at the Discovery Center. Registration fee includes your t-shirt (if registered by June 13), chip timing, post-race drinks and snacks, and chance for race prizes. Day of registrations welcome. MORE INFORMATION

Amped Up EntertainmentSelect Thursdays | 10 AM | Discovery Center Amphitheater Are you looking for free summer programs for your children, grandchildren or even yourself? Then the Discovery Center Amphitheater is the place to be! On select Thursday mornings, the amphitheater will play host to a variety of programs geared to all ages. In The Streets: ITS TruckThe brand new ITS Truck will be in the streets and at a park near you this summer! The ITS Truck will operate Monday to Thursday with two stops per day. Horseback Riding at Bunker Park Stable (Ages 8 to 16)Thursday, June 15 | 10 AM to 2:30 PM | Depart and Return at Discovery Center Travel to Bunker Park Stable for a day of riding horses. The trip departs from the Discovery Center and includes horseback ride, barn tour, horse grooming and transportation. Participants must be at least eight years old and at least 52 inches tall, no exceptions. You must wear long pants and closed-toe shoes (no shorts or sandals). Bring a nut-free bagged lunch. KidCreate Studio: Mini Mania (Ages 5 to 12)Friday, June 16 | 9 AM to 3 PM | Discovery Center Teeny tiny is all the rage, so come create microscopic masterpieces! Library Story Time "Oceans"Wednesday, June 28 | 10:30 AM | Discovery Center A Washington County Youth Librarian will be visiting for a series of special preschool story times! We’ll have fun talking, singing, reading, writing, and playing together. We will focus on concepts such as counting, colors, sharing, emotions, patterns, and the alphabet. A simple craft will follow. Yoga Taught by Jennifer Brandt, Registered Yoga Teacher and Certified Yoga Therapist at Body and Mind Yoga Therapy www.bodyandmindyogatherapy.com. Develop a strong and flexible spine, increase comfort and mobility in your joints, and build strength and balance in a safe way in this all-levels yoga class. Classes focus on each student's own internal experience rather than achieving an external appearance. Every class will include movement and guided breathing woven together. Learn a new skill and have a great time! All supplies are included and our cheerful, step by step instruction is easy to follow, even if you have never picked up a paint brush before. Oakdale Wellness 50+ is supported by Washington County, the City of Oakdale, and the Vital Aging Network (VAN).

UPCOMING OAKDALE WELLNESS 50+ ACTIVITIES: Wednesday Walks at Oakdale Nature Preserve Wednesdays at 9 AM . No registration is necessary to join these weekly walks. June 7 - Guided walk and demonstration of the exercise stations, led by Susan Weum Guided Walk and Nature Center Tour Friday, June 16 | 9 AM | Sunfish Lake Park and Sally Manzara Interpretive Nature Center | Enjoy a guided walk with Environmental Educator Chase Davies followed by light refreshments and a tour of the nature center. Participants must be able to walk one mile on natural and dirt trails.
