Used Car Dealer

The City issues licenses to businesses wanting to operate used car dealerships in Oakdale. 

Application Requirements

• Before you apply for a used car dealer license, please contact the City Planner at 651-730-2720 to ensure the location where you would like to conduct business is eligible for a license.

• Payment of $400 to City of Oakdale - The City offers a quick and easy way to pay your license online. You may also pay by mail or in person with a check or cash.

Licensing Process

Once a completed application has been received by City staff, it will be reviewed by the Licensing Division and the Community Development Department to determine business and zoning eligibility. A report will be submitted to the City Council. Please note that the process may take up to eight weeks.

License Term

The license term for used car dealer licenses runs January 1 to December 31. 

License Renewal

License holders wishing to renew their license must re-apply annually by October 15.
